Hazardous Material Assessment
Asbestos Surveys
Asbestos surveys are required by law in the State of Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We provide minimally invasive survey services to homeowners and contractors planning any demolition or refurbishment. Our Certified Inspectors are compliant with State regulatory sampling procedures and documentation requirements.
Asbestos Sampling and Testing
Safer Homes Environmental has experienced Asbestos Inspectors, capable of conducting safe, cost-effective sampling procedures necessary for lab services. Laboratory analysis for Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) is conducted by our accredited, local 3rd party laboratory. We always opt for expedited analysis options to confirm the presence (or absence) of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) to keep your projects moving forward.
Lead Testing
Lead testing is a crucial aspect of environmental safety and should be performed prior to renovation or demolition. We offer basic self-test swab detection, as well as lead content analysis, which are conducted by accredited laboratories.
Indoor Air Quality Management
Microbial Investigations
Our Certified Microbial Inspectors offer visual assessments by utilizing a variety of thorough inspections techniques. Safer Homes Environmental strives to gather substantiating information specific to your structure, in-order to make recommendations for prudent remediation measures. Our experience obtained during working in the remediation industry offers alternative perspectives for what to expect during the Mold Remediation process, along with exceptional thoroughness during our inspections. Our inspections include an extensive report generated from the information collected during our assessments.
Mold Sampling and Testing
Our company provides comprehensive testing methods to investigate mold concerns in residential and commercial properties. Our certified mold investigation confirms or denies the presence of mold spores in the air or on surfaces using a variety of sampling mediums. Accredited Laboratories conduct analysis examinations or Microbial Spore Trap Analysis, which identifies mold down to the species types and the concentration level of each mold type. SHES, LLC provides a recap of all Laboratory Analysis reports, in layman’s terms most understandable for your use, during your remediation and rebuild process in your structure. Remediation protocols (if necessary), along with additional information which is collected will be utilized to determine the steps necessary for keeping the structure’s indoor air quality in Optimal Conditions.
Remediation Related Services
Building Material(s) Moisture Mapping
Water intrusion into a structure is a cause for serious concern, especially when it has gone undetected for any length of time. This also creates the perfect, although hidden conditions for Bacteria or Mold Growth to occur. Our experience with water damage and restoration services focuses our priority on inspecting all areas of the potentially affected structure to determine if further investigation or mitigation services are needed.
Relative Humidity Testing
Relative Humidity, or often referred to as RH, defines the amount of moisture suspended within an airspace, (as compared to the maximum amount the sample could contain at that given temperature). When not maintained at an appropriate level, given the interior and exterior temperature of the building, condensation or “sweating” can occur on several components of the structure such as windows or plumbing. Furthermore, relative humidity increases when water damages occur within a structure. By assessing the relative humidity of your home, we can examine the ventilation and temperature regulation and determine the effectiveness of both important, indoor environmental aspects and suggest further action which may be essential for your property.
Infrared (IR) Camera Inspections
By utilizing Infrared technology, we have the capability to determine if there are areas of hidden moisture within wall and ceiling cavities. Trapped water within building materials can produce extensive damages, which may remain undetected otherwise. Infrared technology also allows for observing the temperature differentials behind your walls and ceilings, which could indicate an insulation deficiency.
Post Remediation Clearance/Verification Certifications
Our Post-Testing clearance reports verify the successful completion of remediation efforts. Air samples and surface tests submitted for post-remediation analysis determine specifically if remediation and cleaning procedures were effective in returning the work area to safe and acceptable conditions.
